Are these the same dressings and rubs Maven uses in its dishes?
Many of them are. Maven's Best Poultry Rub is what we dry cure our Thanksgiving turkeys with, and the Bolognese is the sauce that goes into Maven's lasagna. So if a sauce on one of our dishes has you scraping the container, check here for a jar of it.
What do you use Maven's spice rubs on?
The Poultry Rub is made for chicken and turkey, and it works on game meats too. The Sweet and Smoky Salmon Rub caramelizes in the oven or on the grill and gives a fillet a brilliant color. The SSP Blend is the kitchen's everyday seasoning: alaea red sea salt and kosher salt with fresh-ground Tellicherry pepper. And the Maven Mexican Seasoning brings the flavor without the heat.
How do I store the dressings and frozen sauces?
Dressings and sauces go into the fridge as soon as your delivery arrives. The Marinara and Bolognese come frozen, so keep them in the freezer until you need them; once thawed, the Bolognese keeps in the fridge for up to 7 days and the Marinara for up to 10. Spice rubs live in the cupboard. The Ingredients page lists how long each item keeps.
Which pantry snacks work for lunchboxes?
Mighty Maven Bars, a nut and seed bar made with raw honey, come full size or mini, and the snack mixes and spiced Northwest hazelnuts travel well in a lunch bag. Most of the snacks contain nuts or peanuts and are flagged that way, so use the Nut-free filter above the menu if you need to. Everything is made in one kitchen that also handles nuts, peanuts, wheat, dairy, eggs, fish and shellfish, so if you're packing around a serious allergy, email us before you order.
Can I order pantry items without ordering meals?
Yes. There's no subscription and no minimum, so a dressing and a spice rub can be the whole order, or they can ride along with the week's dinners and a few things from our local partners. We deliver to Seattle and 24 other cities on Monday, Tuesday or Wednesday, depending on your ZIP code. Delivery is a flat $4.99, and free once your order passes $95.
